The Day In The Sunshine

Wasn't it absolutely gorgeous weather Saturday? It seems hard to believe that soon enough we will be October and be full on Autumn mode. It seems like summer wants to hold on a bit longer.

As we knew it was going to be such a nice day we want to make some plans. There is nothing worse trying to keep three little kids minds occupied in the summer heat and being inside. We are still trying to decorate our home as we are having new carpets laid in a few weeks time. So we wanted to take advantage and have a picnic at the park.

I don't know about you, But I'm fond of a good picnic and my kids love to take their lunchboxes too. As a family of five we are always looking for a budget friendly days out and a picnic in the park. It doesn't cost more than a loaf of bread and it's a winner with the kids.

So we made a little picnic, the girls got on their bikes and we headed off on our little adventure to the park. But before we headed off we decided to go get my sister, her husband and their beautiful little girl to join us so they could enjoy some fun too. It is always nice getting together for a little play date.

The park is a little walk from our home and the girls love to go and look for the fairies in the woods, I mean who doesn't love a fairy hunt. But it's only a short walk through the woods to the park. We are surrounded by a few parks and over the years they have become like a second home but we have recently discovered a new little park further away. It's pretty great, we all like climbing frames aa they are toddler height and you can chill on the bench while the kids go crazy as you know they are not going to get hurt. Even our little man can go and adventure on the slide, but I could tell on this trip to the park that he was starting to feel brave as he started to gout down the slide head first. He really knows how to keep me on my toes.

We got there around lunchtime and so the kids just went a little crazy after parking their bikes up. We were lucky as we had the park to ourselves which I can't be the only one who loves that! Us adults all took our seats on the bench while the kids got settled in. But then it was time for the adults to get involved.

My sister and I decided to go down the slides and swings, as we are big kids at heart. But most funniest thing happened was my sister thought she would get up on the climbing frame a through the tunnel that was built for small toddlers, and then she got a little stuck. However Lacie and Lily were both trying to pull her in and out of the tunnel. That was the Funniest moment. After all the fun on the slides, swings and climbing frames it was then time for lunch.

It was so hot that we needed more water, so my husband and my sisters husband took a trip to the shops and then came back with the water supplies, snacks and some ice pop which were well needed.

A little play and a game of the floor is lava as the little ones have an obsession with that game. it was time to head back home, we headed back through the wood and made sure that they kept an eye out for the fairies of course. It was such a lovely day.

My Babies

Lacie-Jayne

Our first born is our seven year old Lacie-Jayne who is a fun loving, unicorn obsessed, and a serial crisp pincher . You will normally find her in a corner with her nose in a book or creating some kind of masterpiece as she really loves painting, making no end of slime and making models out of playdoh. Lacie-Jayne is such a confident and outgoing little girl who will try to make friends with anyone she comes across. She loves animals and you will often find her looking our for lots of woodland creatures on our adventures.

Lily-Grace

Lily-Grace is our second little girl and she is the complete opposite to little Lacie-Jayne, she is a real girly girl. A caring and loving sweet little one and is always the first one to give you kisses and cuddles when you're feeling sad. Lily-Grace loves unicorns just like her sister, however she prefers Frozen. Honestly, I cannot tell you how many times that we have all had to sit and watch Frozen with her and she has already told me that she cannot wait for the new film. Not only is she crazy about Frozen she also likes to play dress up and will always choose a princess dress, she hate trousers in all forms. Lily-Grace has just started in year one and has become so confidents and independent in just a few weeks, I love seeing her build such a character at school.

Alex

Alex, my baby boy. Well it's safe to say that this one likes to keep me on my toes, but what two year old doesn't like to be into everything. Alex likes cars, dinosaurs and that bloody BABY SHARK. I always seem to be singing it in my sleep. When he's not driving me up the wall with baby shark he is planking across the coffee table, climbing the sofa or sliding down the stairs. Always keeping me on my toes. However he is a helpful little boy and likes to get the henry hoover out, hits with a mop or pulls the washing out.

Little about the Clarks

Hello and welcome to our world.

Well here goes nothing our first blog post. For those who have kindly popped over to visit we are the Clark family and together we are going to share our adventures as a family of five. Now to some you could probably call us a “normal” family, whatever that is, but we are far from normal.

So I’m Sarah-Jayne. I’m the blogger, I can officially call myself one now. I’m a wife to Sam and a mama to three beautiful children who like most parents adore with everything I have. Being a mother is one of the best jobs in the world and I’m glad that I have been blessed with three of them. Before we go any further I need to confess something and I’m not entirely sure how you will feel after I tell you. But...I’m totally and crazily obsessed with ‘Friends’. Now I’m not talking oh I’ll watch this episode or that episode if it’s on. I’m a massive fan. I’ll watch an episode over and over again and probably tell you word for word what happens. I’m also quite artistic, reading and I love home baking, so you’ll probably see a recipe or two!

Now onto my other half, Sam who will help write blog posts from time to time. So we’ve been together for some years and we finally made it official in April this year and our day was just perfect. It’s was so lovely after so long finally marry the man of my dreams. Sam has a real passion for DIY and gardening and the start of this year saw him start his own business which grows daily. If Sam isn’t in the garden or doing DIY he’s either snoozing on the sofa or watching Motor GP.

The three amigos. Our first born is Lacie-Jayne who is a fun loving, unicorn obsessed, crisp pincher seven year old. You will normally find her in a corner with her nose in a book or creating some kind of masterpiece. Our second little girl is Lily-Grace who has just turned five. Lily loves playing with fairies, dollies and absolutely loves Anna from Frozen and loves singing. Last but not least is our beautiful baby boy Alex Robert who is two and loves to keep us on our toes. Honesty he is into everything. At two he has already broken countless of crockery, lamps, a Henry hoover and a fan. Alex loves cars, dinosaurs and that bloody baby shark!!!!

So you may be thinking oh no not another blogger! But what’s more fun that sharing all our adventures as a family of five. We want to document the milestones, remember the big moments and laugh at the silly times. But we also want to be honest and share all the ups and down in life with relationships, work and being parents. We want to be as honest and as real with you so whether your a parent who is dealing with children and their behaviour, home improvements or share some amazing recipes. This is going to be the place to be.

So if you like us go and give us a little comment and don’t forget to pop over to our other social media accounts for a follow or two. All we can leave you with now is try and bare with us as we are new to this so we are still trying to get our heads round it.
